Family Photography In-Home

I love family photography in-home whether it is here in Montreal or in Bromont, Quebec where we have a ski condo. There are a whole host of reasons why you may want to consider a session in your home.

Family Photography In-Home

  • Maybe you've just completed renovations and want to capture your hard work?
  • Are you moving? I photograph a lot of expats who want to capture their life in Montreal.
  • Is it where your kids feel most comfortable?
  • Do you want more than just portraits? By taking photos in your home there is more of a storytelling element. This could be reading books in bed to snacks to just playing with toys and capturing surroundings.
  • For parents with a newborn many prefer the simplicity of an in-home session.

Common Questions

I'm not sure that my home has enough light.

It may or may not and I'm not going to ask you to make that call. I'm not worried - I've photographed pretty much everywhere. I will move furniture so that I can capture what light you have as best I can. I also have artificial lighting I often set up in a pinch.

My home isn't photo worthy.

It doesn't matter! First off - looking through my photos can you even tell which photo is in a huge house or a tiny apartment. Mostly - no. Second - when you look at photos of yourself when you were little in your home do you ever say - 'wow I can't believe my parents took that photo. Look at that couch, isn't it ugly. ' No - you might laugh at how ugly the couch was but you still appreciate the memories it brings. It's your home and the place where your family memories are made. That's what matters.
