I was recently asked to photograph children at a daycare for their school portraits. My initial reaction, I have to admit, was to say no. Weren’t daycare photos always terrible? I thought about it and realized that they didn’t have to be cringe-worthy. I could make something beautiful that parents would be proud to have on their walls.
I really worked hard to find a way to take my time to try and capture, as best as possible, each child’s personality. I don’t think that smiles have to be forced if a child is reserved, but my goal was to let their individuality shine through.
I was truly delighted with the results and I think the parents and daycare was too.
And how could you not be. Aren’t these kids beyond adorable?
