Why do an in-home newborn photoshoot?

First off, I also love studio newborn photoshoots but I thought I would talk in this post about Why do an in-home newborn photoshoot? I'll talk about studio newborn photoshoots in the next post.

Why do an in-home newborn photoshoot?

-You don't have to go anywhere!

-You have all of your baby needs on hand (diapers, cloths, bottles, etc.)

-If the weather is bad you don't have to worry about roads or bundling up baby

-In-home newborn photography tends to tell more of a story as it includes elements from babies home - essentially where the baby is for most of the first few years of life

-In-home newborn photos tend to have more emotion through this connection to home and often they have more shadow and expression

Top FAQs

What if my home isn't nice enough?

This is YOUR home - it doesn't matter what it looks like to anyone but you. I often get concerns from people that their home isn't big enough, decorated enough or nice enough and none of it really matters. I can create nice images pretty much everywhere and have photographed in everywhere from small to large homes.

What if my home is too dark?

I'll be honest with you - almost every home in Montreal is dark unless you are in the suburbs perhaps. I usually shoot centrally and window light is pretty hard to come by. I am used to dealing with these conditions and if I need to I always bring lights.

Do I have to clean?

Yes and no. In my prep guide I will let you know exactly where you should spot clean - the rest can be very much kept as is. And regardless, whatever you do I always move furniture and end up re-arranging your house to get the best photos.

Are you open to an in-home newborn photoshoot? Is this something are you interested in doing? If so contact me and let's make this happen.
