Guess what? In nearly 10 years of being a photographer and literally living almost next door to Westmount Park I have never done a session there. To be honest, I find it very crowded and because of the high foot traffic it often looks a little worse for wear.
On top of all that, no photoshoots of any kind are allowed in the greenhouse - no exceptions - not even from Westmount residents. So if you ever see a photo session in the greenhouse, just know that the photographer walked past three separate signs telling them absolutely no photoshoots of any type are allowed. Yes, it's frustrating as a resident and neighbour not to be able to do shoots inside (and see other photographers break those rules all the time). I just would never want to put a family in a place where they are getting kicked out, and also as a neighbour and resident I respect my other neighbours and residents.
BUT, I get so many requests and was keen to see if I could do it. So on one of the busiest days of the year I set out to see what I could create! And it was beautiful! Yes, there was a lot of people and yes there was a lot of editing but I love how the photos turned out. I’ll be sharing more along with a little bit of behind the scenes video I took a little later.

Pros
- Easy to access
- Lots of interesting structures and buildings
- Nice water features (if they haven't been drained)
Cons
- Extremely busy location. Do not choose this location if you do not want other people watching you or if you want privacy.
- Must be OK with other people potentially in your background.
- The grass can be quite worn to the point where it's just dirt. Don't expect a perfect green lawn.
