Westmount Baby Photographer

Have you just had a baby or are pregnant? Congratulations! I'm glad you are here, and hope you pick me as your Westmount Baby Photographer.

I'm going to go over all the biggest FAQs I hear.

Westmount Baby Photographer FAQs

How do I pick a newborn photographer?

There are a ton of us, but we are all different. I don't really consider my photographer friends my direct competition because we all have something different to offer. We all specialize in one style, or we'll have a different approach. Our photos are not the same and our editing is not the same. So what I recommend you do is to open up our websites and look at our portfolio. You can also check our Instagram profile for our latest photos. This will give you an idea of our vibe. Now, what photos do you get excited about? What makes you kinda go, oh gosh that looks like something I wouldn't want on my wall? Start there. Then start your enquiries. Apart from budget, keep in mind extras. Do they supply dresses? Newborn outfits? Styling? The right outfits can really elevate a session. Do you like their vibe? Is their communication clear? All these things will help you narrow down what works for you.

My baby won't last long, can we do a mini session?

I want to set you up for success, and have you walk away with a great experience. A 20 minute session is not that. Imagine, sometimes just changing your babies diaper and calming them takes 10 minutes! My newborn studio sessions take 1.5 hours, and in home is up to 2 hours. This gives you time to feed, comfort, change diapers, change outfits and not feel stressed out. If your baby is over 3 months old they can participate in a mini.

When do I book my newborn session?

If you've already given birth, please contact me now.

If you haven't given birth, we book on your due date and move from there.

If you want photos where your baby is sleepier, and more curled up I suggest within the first 10 days.

If you aren't feeling so hot and things are hard and chaotic, and it's OK if your baby is mostly awake and stretched out, after 14 days is fine.

It's really up to you, but we move it as much as feels comfortable for you.

Should I do a studio session or in-home session?

First off, do not base your decision on if your home looks 'designer-y' or if the light is poor. Yes, if the light is poor we may have to limit our shooting spots, but I've shot in all types of homes. I'm used to all circumstances.

Think more about the style of photo you'd like. Do you prefer something simpler, airier and more portrait focused? Choose a studio session.

Do you prefer something more emotional, that tells more of a story? Choose an in-home session.

Both have their ups and downs.

If you'd like to book a newborn session or bump and baby package please get in touch.

Thank you!
